Throughout our 23 years in practice, our values have been the foundation for everything we do. We believe that everyone deserves access to great places to live, learn, work, and play; that every place can be extraordinary; that great places arise from engaging and listening to communities, being bold and pushing for change and innovation; that collaboration and knowledge sharing enables us to solve urban challenges; and in grounding practice with rigorous, practical, and relevant research.
Our Impact.
We have focused on helping our clients – government, private sector, and the community – to create people-first urban development strategies. Our work has encompassed strategic place-making, community and stakeholder engagement, organisational resilience and capability training, community research and insights, and incorporating skills and employment programs into large-scale projects.
Our Legacy.
As a registered not-for-profit organisation, Studio THI has undertaken education, research, and development projects to find practical solutions to urban design problems, applied our knowledge and resources to improve the quality of lives and environments, provided information and education on the creative development and management of the built environment, and supported individuals and communities in acquiring job skills.
As part of our enduring legacy, we are leaving behind a suite of valuable tools and programs that will remain accessible to the public. These resources include the Urban Change Readiness Index, Community Education Videos, Great Places Assessment and the Urban Transition Leadership Self-Assessment. By making these tools and programs available, we aim to continue empowering communities, urban planners, and local leaders to drive positive change and shape sustainable urban futures. We hope that these resources will continue to inspire, educate, and support those working towards creating more equitable, resilient, and livable cities for generations to come.
As we close this chapter, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our clients, partners, and the community for their support and trust over the past 23 years. Although Studio THI is closing its doors, our commitment to our vision and values remains steadfast.
