Why care about urban change?
Urban change is when new homes and shops, activities, transport options and people are introduced into a city or neighbourhood. We should care about it because it can change how a community functions and feels, potentially influencing how we live, work and spend time with others. It can influence housing choice and affordability, access to services, education, how we travel and where we socialise and relax. Good urban change can create opportunities and make life better for ourselves, others and future generations. It can make it easier to get around, connect to others and enjoy our surroundings. On the other hand, poor urban change can limit opportunities, increase traffic congestion, reduce access to services and green spaces, and strain resources.
